Considered to be the industry's first MicroTCA-compliant, single-chip JTAG signal multiplexer, the DS26900 provides secondary port auto detection, three arbitrated master ports, and 18 independent secondary ports, which can be cascaded for up to 36 secondary ports. Port auto detection allows the master to detect device presence on secondary ports and supports transparent communication between an arbitrated master and a selected secondary port. Providing a solution for star-architecture JTAG, the chip also features two 32-bit scratchpad registers, internal pull-up/pull-down resistors, and operation up to 50 MHz. Available in a leaded or lead-free, 144-pin 20 mm x 20 mm LQFP package, pricing starts at $6.50 each/10,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
