Enriching the company's line of synchronous buck drivers for non-isolated, low-output dc/dc converters, the UCC27223 includes an enable pin and delivers ±3A of output drive current for power-MOSFET switching at Miller plateau thresholds. The device's enable pin and proprietary predictive-gate-drive, digital-control technology reportedly reduces diode conduction and reverse recovery losses in synchronous-rectifier MOSFETs. This technology adjusts dead-time delays in the next switching cycle to minimize the conduction time interval. Other features of the driver include an input voltage range from 5V to 12V, a maximum supply voltage of 20V, and an integrated 6.5V gate-drive regulator. Available in an HTSSOP-14 PowerPAD package, price is $1.25 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924
