With direct li-ion battery operation, typical on-resistance values down to 0.25Ω, and current-handling capabilities up to 300 mA for load switching, the DGxxxx family of low-voltage analog switches takes aim at a wide range of portable products.

With direct li-ion battery operation, typical on-resistance values down to 0.25Ω, and current-handling capabilities up to 300 mA for load switching, the DGxxxx family of low-voltage analog switches takes aim at a wide range of portable products. The seven devices in the family provide bi-directional signal flow and rail-to-rail signal swing. The DG2799 DPDT switch guarantees 1.6V logic at a 4.3V and features an on-resistance of 0.25Ω at 2.7V and switching times of 57 ns (tON) and 45 ns (tOFF). The DG2714, a break-before-make SPDT monolithic CMOS analog switch, operates with supply voltages from 1.6V to 3.6V and specifies switching times of 51 ns (tON) and 33 ns (tOFF). Typical on-resistance is 0.85Ω. With the same operating voltage range, the DG2715 and DG2716 are bi-directional SPST devices, switching at speeds of 29 ns (tON) and 26 ns (tOFF) with typical on-resistance values of 0.4Ω at 2.7V and 1.5Ω at 1.8V with a flatness of 0.2Ω. The DG2741, DG2742, and DG2743 single-supply, dual SPST devices exhibit on-resistance values down to 0.4Ω at 2.7V, switching speeds of 30 ns (tON) and 28 ns (tOFF), and the ability to handle signals over the entire analog voltage range. Available in a variety of packages and depending on the device, prices range from $0.49 to $0.97 each/1,000. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
