Specifying an operating range of 3V to 40V, the ZXCT1081 current monitor is said to simplify current measurement in high-voltage automotive, industrial, and power supply applications. The device has a fixed gain and requires a single low-value sense resistor to measure high-side currents. It operates on a 5V supply, ensuring interface compatibility with microcontrollers and a/d converters while preventing the output from exceeding the supply rail. A separate supply pin allows the ZXCT1081 to function under short circuit conditions, providing an end-stop voltage at the output. Available in a SOT23-5 package, price is $0.54 each/1,000.
