Modem Chipset Supports Telephony And Faxing Functions

Compatible with the International Telecommunication Union's V.90 standard for 56-kbps modems, this modem chipset is designed to provide SOHO and other PC users with high-end telephone, digital answering machine and fax functions, even while the PC is turned off. The chipset is a software enhancement of the firm's existing Venus 56-kbit/s modem two chip set that includes the DSP1673 digital signal processor and CSP1034AH codec. The DSP chip is available in 128- and 144-pin TQFPs and 160-pin MQFPs for use with 3.3V or 5V supplies and in 132-pin BQFPs for 5V supplies. The codec comes housed in either 44-pin MQFPs or 48-pin TQFPs.
