Devices Provide Bridge Between Motors And DSPs

Feb. 1, 2001

Three semiconductors, the EB01, EB02 and EB03, are designed to provide a drive bridge between a motor and a digital signal emanating from a DSP. One of these devices, used in conjunction with a DSP, allows users to achieve three-phase control for brushless dc, stepper and ac motors.
Each device consists of three independent IGBT or FET half-bridges with drivers, allowing them to work with most motor types depending on the programming of the DSP. The devices operate with motor power supplies of 50V to 500V (EB01), 10V to 100V (EB02), and 10V to 200V (EB03). PWM frequencies are 30 kHz or 50 kHz depending on model. Prices are $244 for the EB01 and $234 for the EB02 or EB03.
