Unveiled as the latest member of the iChipSEC family of machine-to-machine (M2M) IP controllers, the CO2144 offers complete IP connectivity and security in a 144-ball, 10 mm x10 mm LFBGA package. The device supports wireless LAN and all cellular standards, making it suitable for applications such as automotive, remote monitoring, and medical devices. It also offers a full suite of Internet protocols and applications and, since the CO2144 performs as a coprocessor, developers do not need to program or write code for controlling connectivity or application security. The logical interface between the host application and device, the AT+i Protocol text-based API, promises fast and easy implementation of Internet networking and security protocols. Additionally, the chip is RoHS-compliant and specifies an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Price is under $7 each in large volume. CONNECT ONE SEMICONDUCTORS INC., San Jose, CA.
