New µC Family Is Based On Standard Architecture
Oct. 1, 1998
Based on an architecture that has been used internally to produce application-specific µCs for PC monitor, remote control, CD player, and RDS car radio applications, ST72 core is based on an industry-standard accumulator-based architecture that can run at double speed. Available in OTP versions, the new µC family combines a well known programming model (16-bit program counter and stack pointer, 8-bit accumulator, X and Y index registers), comprehensive development support, a wide range of memory sizes and on-chip peripherals in mask ROM or OTP versions of each type.
