Promising to reduce overall system cost and development cycle, the LH7A400 is a 200-MHz system-on-chip (SoC) based on the ARM922T core and is designed for color LCD applications. The device combines a 32-bit ARM9TDMI RISC core, 16 KB of cache, MMU, color LCD controller and local SRAM.
With a processing speed of about 220 MIPS, the chip also includes a host of peripherals, such as interfaces to various types of memory media, direct memory access (DMA) controller, serial and parallel interfaces, USB, infrared support, counter/timers, real-time clock, watchdog timers and an on-chip PLL. The programmable LCD controller supports resolutions up to 800 x 600, up to 64,000 colors, and 15 gray shades. It can directly interface to STN, color STN, TFT, and to the company's highly-reflective TFT and DMTN panels. Samples will be available in the third quarter of year. Pricing is less than $21 each/10,000.
