16-Bit MCU Extends Battery Life
The MAXQ2010, a 16-bit mixed-signal MCU, employs a unique power-saving stop mode that reduces power consumption to 370 nA typical and 6.5 ?A maximum at +85?C. Resting on a RISC architecture, the device delivers execution speeds up to 10 MIPS at 10 MHz and data sampling up to 312 ksamples/s with an ADC resolution of 12 bits. An integrated regulator allows direct operation from a single lithium coin cell at 2.7V to 3.6V. For additional power savings, the MAXQ2010 consumes 3.1 mA typical at 10-MHz operation in active mode. Other features include the 12-bit ADC with a 1.5V ±2% voltage reference, a LCD controller, and a supply-voltage monitor. Additionally, the MCU uses a low-cost, 32-kHz crystal to generate the 8.389-MHz system clock and enable the real-time clock peripheral. Available in a 100-pin LQFP, prices start at $2.95 each/10,000.
