Adding to the SuperFlash-based FlashFlex family of eight-bit, 8051-compatible microcontrollers, the SST89V54RD-33-C-QIF is available in a 6 mm x 6 mm x 0.8 mm WQFN package standing 0.7 mm in height, reportedly making it the smallest 8051-based MCU currently on the market. The device supports in-system programming and in-application programming, allowing users to update the flash device in the field or in an application. Pricing starts at $1.20 each/10,000.
