Heralded as the industry's highest performance OAM processor, the Monitor 4.8 provides full-duplex, OC-48c data rates up to 4.8 Gb/s with 512 Kb/s individual or 256 Kb/s full-duplex rates in VC, VP or VP/VC switch configurations. The device is ITU I.630 compliant and offers true per-connection activation/deactivation OAM flows with performance and fault monitoring on all 256-Kb/s connections independently.
Teamed with the company's PaceMaker 2.4 traffic management/SAR device, the Monitor 4.8 is said to provide a complete solution for line card ATM cell and packet processing. The device interfaces to external circuitry via four independent standard UTOPIA 3 ports and a 32-bit, 66-MHz PCI interface. Samples are available now and OEM quantities priced at $900 will be available in the second quarter of 2001.
