MCUs Know How To Drive LCDs, Also Can Support CAN Connectivity
Four recent additions to the BlueStreak controller family contain the circuitry for driving color or grayscale LCDs and for supporting CAN 2.0B connectivityÑthe family offers the performance of a 32-bit ARM7TDMI core while requiring only 16-bit external addressing. The LH75401 is a CAN 2.0B and color LCD controller, while LH75400 is a combined CAN and grayscale LCD controller. The CAN-less LH75411 and LH75410 are color LCD and greyscale LCD controllers, respectively. (The Controller Area Network or CAN represents a robust protocol for use in implementing command, control and communications in electrically noisy environments.). The new MCUs also pack a 10-bit ADC with integrated touch-screen controller, 32 KB of SRAM, a Vectored Interrupt Controller to speed up serving of interrupts, three UARTs, three 16-bit counter/timers with capture and compare logic, a watchdog timer, and low voltage detector. And the parts can operate up to 50 MHz at 3.3V. SHARP MICROELECTRONICS OF THE AMERICAS, Camas, WA. (800) 642-0261.
