Featuring a 80-Msample/s, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), NXP Semiconductors’ LPC4370 microcontroller (MCU) will find homes in high-speed data-acquisition applications. The MCU is powered by a 204-MHz ARM Cortex-M4 processor. It also contains a 204-MHz Cortex-M0 co-processor for offloading control and I/O tasks, such as handling USB stacks. A dedicated subsystem focuses on programmable digital I/O and pre- or post-processing. Among the advanced peripherals are Hi-Speed USB with on-chip PHY and Ethernet for high-speed communications, and a graphics LCD controller for display interfacing. The MCU’s multicore architecture simplifies algorithm partitioning. It offers 282 kbytes of SRAM and flexible memory expansion. The LPC4370 is pin-compatible with all LPC4300 and LPC1300 MCUs. Applications include spectrum analysis, current measurement, digital signal processing, audio streaming/processing, and analytical instrumentation.
