Three dc/dc power management chipsets have been optimized to power IntelÕs new ultra-low-voltage Pentium III processor for the emerging category of low-power, space-saving, ultra-dense servers. The chipsets are said to provide up to 2% higher efficiency at the industry-low 1.1 volts required by IntelÕs new processors compared to competitive solutions. The three power management chipsets are based on the IRU3013 power management IC, which integrates a 5-bit programmable synchronous buck converter controller with triple LDO controllers. The IC is combined with the companyÕs 30V or 20V HEXFET power MOSFETs to form the chipsets. Pricing for the IRU3013 starts at $2.44 each/10,000. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA.
