AI-Powered Chat Feature Added to Eschbach’s SAMI Platform
What you'll learn:
- What is the SAMI platform?
- How the system was trained and utilized.
- SAMI's potential applications.
Eschbach recently unveiled a new AI-powered chat feature for its SAMI (Shiftconnector Artificial Manufacturing Intelligence) enterprise manufacturing platform that's designed to enhance real-time, context-aware decision-making in the manufacturing industry. With the new chat feature, users can interact with manufacturing operations data via natural language, providing insight without navigating complex systems.
The platform can answer questions such as "What happened on the last shift?" or "What was done to resolve the issue on Line 2?" by utilizing stored and site-specific data. According to the company, it’s set to transform the way workers access and take advantage of operational knowledge.
SAMI takes advantage of generative AI to combine natural-language processing with advanced machine learning. Its Smart Search feature locates relevant shift notes and maintenance records, while “Smart Solutions” suggests root causes and fixes based on past incidents.
SAMI was trained on common industry and site-specific data, enabling it to understand the language, workflows, and context of process manufacturing. Thus, it’s well-suited for industries such as chemical and drug production, where accuracy, traceability, and speed are paramount.
Eschbach stated that SAMI embodies the goals of Industry 5.0 by prioritizing human-centric technology that boosts worker performance and preserves institutional knowledge.
"At Eschbach, we believe Industry 5.0 is about more than just technology—it's about people. We are moving towards manufacturing with technology built around human needs and focused on enhancing human capabilities," said CEO Andreas Eschbach.
He added, "With SAMI, we're not just creating a tool; we're giving our customers' workforce a powerful assistant that saves time, preserves institutional knowledge, and drives continuous improvement. This isn't just the future of manufacturing; it's the future of empowering human potential."
