March 22, 2019
SEMI published its February Equipment Market Data Subscription Billings Report on Thursday, and its figures showed a continued slump for North American semiconductor billings.

SEMI's data said that February's billings were down 1.7% from the final January level of $1.90 billion, and were down 23.0% from February 2018's level of $2.41 billion. It follows a 10.5% decline from December 2018 to January 2019, and January 2019 billings that were down 20.8% year-over-year.

“Global billings of North American equipment suppliers continued a decline that began in November 2018,” said Terry Tsao, chief marketing officer at SEMI. “Despite lower levels of investment, monthly billings for the year remain above 2016 levels.”

Here's how North American semiconductor billings have looked each month since September 2018, according to SEMI's data:

The SEMI Billings report uses three-month moving averages of worldwide billings for North American-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Billings figures are in millions of U.S. dollars.
