The MAX2745, a single-chip RF front-end for global-positioning-systems (GPS), touts the highest integration in the industry to eliminate the need for a SAW filter and discrete IF filters, resulting in a lower bill of material and reduced board area.

The MAX2745, a single-chip RF front-end for global-positioning-systems (GPS), touts the highest integration in the industry to eliminate the need for a SAW filter and discrete IF filters, resulting in a lower bill of material and reduced board area. The device supports both third-overtone crystal designs at 32 MHz and fundamental-frequency crystal designs in 16 MHz and TCXO environments. Other integrated features include a temperature sensor and crystal oscillator with trimmed capacitors. Suitable applications consist of general navigation and tracking systems, fleet management, asset tracking and management, location-based services, emergency/roadside assistance, geographical information systems, recreational handheld and marine navigation systems, and battery-operated consumer electronics.
