A new miniature DIP packaged dc/dc converter has been designed to meet point-of-load power conversion requirements in board-level product applications such as data acquisition, communications, and industrial I/O. The ASD35 converter provides an output power of 3W, and accepts a single-range input from 4.5 to 6 Vdc. Seven models include single and dual outputs from 5 to 15 Vdc. Each contains continuous short circuit protection and an internal input filter, eliminating the need for external components. The ASD35 converter is UL and cUL approved. Up to 1,500V I/O isolation can be provided. Operating ambient temperature ranges from –25°C to +71°C without forced cooling.
