A compact, programmable motor driver, the TA2230 runs a brushless dc motor at a constant velocity using the motor’s Hall sensors for velocity feedback. Via an RS-232 interface, the unit is programmable from startup to ramp up at a preset rate and maintains a constant velocity regardless of changes in load. The motor drive with optional cooling fans measures 9.3" x 3.5" x 5.7". Operating with a 100 to 220 Vac supply, peak output is 25A and dc output spans 0 to 330 Vdc at a 45A peak, 20A continuous. The unit offers three speed setting options: external speed command via an off-board potentiometer, internal via an on-board potentiometer for fixed-speed adjustment, and fixed speed set via software. Other features include soft-start control, ac-line filtering, and an optically isolated user interface. TRUST AUTOMATION, San Luis Obispo, CA. (805) 544-0761.
