In a PMC format for VME, VPX, PCI, CompactPCI applications, the ICS-1554 digital receiver packs four 16-bit ADCs sampling synchronously at frequencies up to 160 MHz. Pairing the module with an appropriate host processor creates a powerful single-slot IF processing solution for software defined radio applications. Simultaneous down conversion of up to 16 arbitrary signal bands comes by way of four Graychip GC4016 digital down converters and a Xilinx Virtex 5 SX95 FPGA is on board for user-defined signal processing functions. Support for simultaneous wide- and narrow-band operation results from using dual decoupled FIFO memory. The module's 64 User I/Os connect directly from the FPGA to the Pn4 connector to provide an alternative data path from the module. The I/O pins support LVTTL and LVDS transmit signaling and can be pre-set for LVDS receive operation. Additionally, the module includes a hardware development kit.
