Measuring just 1 by 0.8 by 0.4 in., the JCA series of board-mounted low-power dc-dc converters occupy 20% less pc-board space than traditional products using the 24-pin DIP layout. The series includes 2-, 3-, 4-, and 6-W models, each offering a choice of four nominal input voltages of 5, 12, 24, and 48 V dc. Input options, covering a 2:1 voltage range, are 4.5 to 9.0 V dc, 9 to 18 V dc, 18 to 36 V dc, or 36 to 75 V dc with under-voltage lockout as standard. For each input voltage, single-output models offer 3.3, 5, 12, or 15 V dc outputs. The dual-output versions provide ±5, ±12, or ±15 V dc. Outputs are fully regulated, varying no more than ±0.3% over all input conditions, and less than ±1.0% across all load conditions. Basic input-to-output isolation is rated at 1500 V dc, and case-to-input or output is 500 V dc. Operating temperature range is –40°C to 100°C, with derating above 75°C. No additional heat sinking or forced-air cooling is required. Prices range from $11.21 for OEM quantities of the 2-W, JCA02 model to $21.06 for OEM quantities of the 6-W, dual-output JCA06 model.
