By adding registers and expanding current register bits, these stepper motor chips can provide control of S-curve acceleration/deceleration. PCL-240AS (in DIP) and PCL-240MS (in SMT package) chips can replace the firm's PCL-240AK and PCL-240MK without board modification to add the S-curve feature. The devices unburden the host CPU from motion control tasks by generating motion control profiles and output pulses. Maximum output speed is 2.4 Mpps with a reference clock of 4.9152 MHz; and five signal inputs are accommodated: EL+, EL-, SD+, SD- and Home for machine interfaces. Mode register control of various modes, such as continuous, programmable, and phantom move, is also provided.

Company: NIPPON PULSE MOTOR COMPANY LTD. (NPM)
