The TSI family is said to be the highest capacity, commercial off-the-shelf time slot interchange (TSI) digital switching products available for carrier-class VoIP gateways and high-density metropolitan access switches. They provide non-blocking switching capabilities of up to 16,384 DSO channels and enable the grooming of high-density voice and data traffic necessary in classes of equipment that integrate voice and data. Applications include carrier-class and enterprise VoIP gateways, remote access concentrators, and 3G wireless base stations. This product family also features minimal power consumption in smaller, board-efficient packaging. The switchs manage voice and data traffic consistently and reliably in VoIP applications, the company says, and maintains a standard switching interface with traditional telephony-based protocols. The switch family is currently sampling and in production for switching densities ranging from 256 x 256 to 4K x 4K and 8K x 8K and 16K x 16K are sampling now.
