The TDP (Triad Differential Pair) connector's triad contact configuration of differential and signal ground lines lets the connector achieve bandwidths of 5.0 Gbits/s and beyond. Its shielded, dual-row, cable-to-board interface yields high-speed performance and 100-‡ controlled impedance. To reduce insertion force, contacts have a shallow mating angle. The recessed contacts also protect signal lines from electrostatic discharge (ESD), support mating alignment, and provide added contact protection during handling. The TDP connectors are available in circuit sizes of 18, 28, 38, 48, and 72 circuits. Other sizes in the 10- to 80-circuit range can also be ordered. The in-line surface-mount receptacle optimizes pc-board routing. The TDP devices, which have a 7.0-mm profile, target use in low-voltage differential-signalling (LVDS) servers, routers, switches, storage and network equipment, test, measurement, and diagnostic system (TMDS) digital displays, portable digital-video-interface (DVI) devices, automotive displays, and multiple high-speed, differential-pair signal equipment. The 18-circuit right-angle receptacle costs $3.84 each in 1000-unit quantities. Pricing will vary, though, depending on quantity ordered, circuit size, and configuration.
