DAC Supports Dueling DVD Audio Standards

Enabling the creation of mainstream universal DVD players is the goal of CS4391, an audio digital-to-analog converter that is suited for use in a variety of professional and consumer audio applications. In addition to DVD players, target markets for the chip include Hi-Fi A/V receiver/amplifiers, set-top boxes, mixing consoles, outboard converters, and effects processors. Furthermore, the device’s ability to eliminate jitter noise is said to significantly simplify complex analog system designs. Samples are available.
