Used in such 5V-3.3V applications as DVD players, disk drives, memory, add-in cards, set-top boxes, and motherboard clock supplies, the LX8415 surface-mount, 500 mA low-dropout regulator is designed to regulate to less than 1.3V dropout voltage.

On-chip trimming of the device's internal voltage reference allows the initial output voltage to be held to within ±1%. Output current-limit point also is trimmed to help minimize stress on both the regulator and the system power source when operating under short-circuit conditions. The regulator's internal circuitry can operate at input-to-output differential voltages down to 1V.
