Following the leading edge of technology can be tough for embedded designers with a vested interest in custom ISA adapters. Win Enterprises' WINIP-06046 attempts to fill the gap with a socket for the latest Pentium 4 processor. The motherboard offers three ISA and three PCI slots, plus an 8x AGP video slot. There also is a CompactFlash slot, up to 4 Gbytes of DDR SDRAM, a Gigabit and Fast Ethernet port, six USB ports, four serial ports, three IEEE 1394 ports, and a pair of Serial ATA ports—just the ticket for embedded x86 applications. The WINIP-06046 is priced at $310.
