The 4-kbyte, flash-based 68HC908QL4 microcontroller (MCU) incorporates a hardware-based local interconnect network (LIN) slave interface that reduces system overhead by 80% compared to UART implementations. It also reduces the LIN device driver size. The 68HC908QL4 requires no LIN bus synchronization code. Also, the internal oscillator needn't be trimmed. The chip has low-voltage interrupt, keyboard interrupt, LED drive capability, and a six-channel 10-bit ADC. Pricing starts at $1.

I earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
