WANs, PCMCIA cards, and handheld data collection and wearable communications devices are among the products targeted by a new ISM band disk antenna that can operate on frequencies between 2.4 and 2.5 GHz, or, with factory tuning, on center frequencies of from 2.2 to 2.6 GHz. In addition, the impedance match for the antenna is customizable, allowing the unit to be installed in products with only minor artwork modification. The dielectrically loaded antenna is said to provide a uniform, omnidirectional, vertically polarized radiation pattern with superior bandwidth. The pc board-mountable antenna measures only about 1/2" square, has a 0 dB gain, and can handle up to 5W of power.
