cPCI Ethernet Switch Can Call On 22 Ports

Nov. 1, 2002

Boasting of high density, fast connection speeds, and high reliability, the XL-ES24 CompactPCI Ethernet switch provides 22 10/100-Mb/s Ethernet ports. The board also provides Layer 2 switching functions that include two front panel 10/100 RJ-45 ports and two 100/1000 Base-T ports. Other features of the switch include an auto-negotiation function for full and half duplex operation and flow control at data rates of 10/100 Mb/s or 100/1000 Mb/s and a GARP VLAN registration protocol for automatic VLAN configuration distribution. Console access is via an RS-232 cable to configure SNMP, Telnet, CLI, and RMON management, as well as system diagnostics. The cPCI Ethernet switch comes with a browser and web-based management capabilities. Routing and switching are at full wire speed on all ports via a non-blocking architecture.
