Made to be mated with two-phase NEMA size 17 to 34 stepper motors, the PLG240 programmable bipolar motor driver/controller is said to offer higher performance and integration, more features, and a lower cost than existing competitive products. The compact (3.1" x 3.4" x 1.2") PLG240 driver/controller includes an embedded microcontroller for communication with the host PC, with motion profiles (constant-speed and indexed movement), motion parameters (start and stop speed, max. run speed, etc.), I/O control line, and timers all programmable and downloadable from the PC. Features of the bipolar driver include high input voltage (12-48 vdc), high running current (1A-3A/phase), built-in microstep functions (1/8, 1/4, 1/2 step modes), and pluggable terminals for easy system interfacing. In addition, the card offers an on-board supply for 5V logic circuits.
