Designed to reduce system cost and save board space, a new Bluetooth baseband device runs full-rate Bluetooth links in either host-based or hostless configurations, removing the need for a second host CPU. The BSN6040 chipset combines the BSN6040 baseband device and the recently certified (Bluetooth Qualification Board) TRF6001 Bluetooth transceiver , which features -86 dBm receiver sensitivity. The BSN6040 supports full Bluetooth throughput at 723 kb/s for DH5 packets, reducing wireless data transfer time. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, Dallas, TX. (800) 336-5236.
