Providing critical signal-processing connections in next generation diagnostic equipment, the MEG-Array mezzanine connector system meets the signal density and data transmission requirements of CT scanners and MRI systems. With an eye on conserving board space, the system accommodates up to 80 usable signals per linear centimeter. The 12 x 44, 528-position array enables greater than 16 slices per CT scan rotation and is said to eliminate bottlenecks between detector arrays and detector electronics. Other features include a 0.052 x 0.052 ball grid array pitch and a crosstalk of less than 1% at 10 Gb/s when configured as differential pairs. Pricing is $0.08 per mated contact each/10,000.
