Expanding the company’s family of PCI-DSP interface ASICs for Analog Devices’ SHARC and TigerSHARC DSPs, the SFIN-101 is a single-chip ASIC that interfaces the ADSP-TS101S with 64-bit/66-MHz PCI and board-level utilities. The device combines the complex control of the PCI bus with an interface to the ADSP-TS101S TigerSHARC DSP and interfaces it to a wide range of interfaces. These include the 64-bit/66-MHz PCI bus (rev. 2.2 compliant), I2C serial ports, flash memory, and a general-purpose expansion bus. It also provides a set of DMA functions and interrupt options to support real-time data flow with a minimum of processor overhead. For support, the SFIN-101 developer’s kit includes a Tiger-PCI board, the DSP21k toolkit source code porting kit, a royalty free license for use of the DSP21k source code, VisualDSP++ for TigerSHARC, two days of engineering support, one day of schematic review, and 25 SFIN-101 chips. The SFIN-101 is priced at $99 each/5K and the developer’s kit is priced at $30,000. BITTWARE INC, Concord, NH. (603) 226-0404.
