A new ultra-miniature slide switch accommodates design variation with through-hole, surface mount and illuminated models. With a maximum width of .354", a length of .622" and a height of .275", the SS slide switch is useful for situations involving high-density mounting and limited pc board space. Standard 2.0 mm x 2.0 mm terminal spacing for pc board grid mounting can be designed. Terminals are insert molded to lock out flux, solvents and other contaminants. A sliding twin crossbar contact mechanism is said to guarantee high contact reliability and crisp actuation. Through-hole models come in SPDT, SP3T and DPDT circuits, and all are maintained. Engineers can specify top or side actuated devices and may choose between gold or silver contact rated 0.4 VA maximum at 28V ac/dc maximum and 0.1A at 30Vdc, respectively. When subjected to high soldering temperatures, the double molded, thermoset base and thermoplastic housing prevent loosening of terminals. Rated for logic-level switching, the SS surface mount models have side actuation and come in SPDT and SP3T circuits. This model can be safely subjected to vapor phase and reflow soldering. Illuminated models are through-hole mounted and have SPDT or DPDT configurations. NKK SWITCHES, Scottsdale, AZ. (480) 991-0942.
