The functions needed for real-time broadcast quality video conversion are integrated in the LF3370, an HDTV format color-space converter. The chip comprises a full color-space matrix multiplier array coupled with dual half-band filters which provide both step-up and step-down conversions from 4:2:2:4 and 4:4:4:4 video formats. On-board, user-programmable look-up tables allow gamma correction support for a range of display devices including CRT, LCD, plasma and projection. The I/O structure supports fully parallel and interleaved video signals. Available in a 160-pin PQFP package, the device is priced starting at $65.00 each/1000.
