Application Kit Includes Wireless Data Module

The company's Wireless Control Application Kit provides a development reference to interface a license-free 900-MHz or 2.4-GHz wireless data module from Maxstream to a Rabbit-based embedded system. The system demonstrates how to add wireless connectivity to embedded applications such as remote monitoring, proximity sensor readings, wireless I/O control, and wireless data transmission. The kit contains an LP3500 single-board computer and two MaxStream RF Modules. The SBC provides 26 I/O lines, eight analog inputs, six serial ports, and a power-save mode that draws less than 100 µA. For U.S. applications, the 900-MHz kit features an XCite RF modem from Maxstream; for worldwide applications, the 2.4-GHz version includes the extended range XStream RF modem. Both modems are functional replacements to a serial cable. Both kits also include sample programs and libraries. Prices for the 900-MHz and 2.4-GHz kits are $599 and $699 each, respectively.
