Measuring 22.8 mm x 58.4 mm x 9.5 mm in an open-frame package, the 240W SQT48T20120 eighth-brick, Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) bus dc/dc converter reports a power density of 300 W/in3 and an efficiency of 96%. For higher output

For higher output current requirements, multiple converters can be paralleled. Without the aid of a fan, the converter operates from a regulated 48V (42V to 53V) input to provide a 4:1 proportional-ratio 12V output. Additional features include compliance to the basic insulation requirements of EN60950, remote on/off, no minimum-load operation, and an onboard input-differential LC filter. Protection features include input under-voltage lockout, thermal shutdown, over-voltage, and over-current. Price is $40 each/1,000. POWER-ONE INC., Carlsbad, CA. (866) 969-3438.
