Open-Frame Design Eliminates Extender Cards In VME64X Systems

April 1, 2001

Combining a unique T-frame design into an eight-slot, benchtop test system, the new T-Frame for VME64X handles cross-compatibility for all VME applications including VME32, VME64 and VME64 extensions. Targeted primarily for military, communications and industrial control markets, the product is said to be a suitable development platform for companies wanting to upgrade the performance of their existing installed VME base, or for entirely new applications. The T-Frame’s patented open-frame design gives users unrestricted access to installed boards, so there is no need for extender cards that may reduce performance. Side covers protect modules and maintain airflow while under test, yet can be easily removed for full access to both sides of installed modules and unrestricted access to the backplane for probes or additional cabling. In single-piece quantities, pricing starts at $3,975.
