Complementing the company's COTS VME products and representing the newest member of its EmPower communications boards, the PMCQ1 communication PMC can be used standalone or in conjunction with the company's PowerPC single-board computers (SBCs). Specifically targeting rugged communications applications, the board features a Motorola QUICC device that provides four high-speed, synchronous/asynchronous serial channels. An optional DDC enhanced Mini-ACE provides a single-channel, dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 interface.
With its sights set on the industrial and military/aerospace markets, the board comes in various ruggedized styles. Software support is provided for HDLC, LAPB and X.25 communication-protocol modules from Trillium operating under VxWorks and LynxOS. Pricing starts at $1,810 each.
