Welling up in production quantities now, the 200-MHz LH7A400 32-bit system on chip (SoC) in a 256-pin PBGA employs the ARM922T core and debuts as the first general-purpose SoC in the company's BlueStreak device family. In addition to the core, the device integrates a 16 KB cache, memory management unit, 1,024 x 768 color LCD controller, and 80 KB of local SRAM. While executing up to 220 MIPS, it consumes just 1.33 mW/MIPS. Operating voltages are 1.8V for the core and either 1.8V or 3.3V for the I/O lines. Other on-chip features include a PLL, 10-channel DMA controller, serial and parallel interfaces, USB, infrared support, counter/timers, real-time clock, and a watchdog timer. The device also enjoys extensive third-party support in terms of hardware and software. This includes product-ready hardware and software from Logic Product Development, BSQUARE's pre-configured board-support package for Windows CE.NET version 4.2, and Metrowerks' Platform Creation Suite 2.4 development tools and Linux.
