With dual IF outputs providing an interface for IF SAW filters, the RF2492 dual-band LNA/mixer IC complies with GSM/ANSI-136 Interoperability Team (GAIT) specs. Supporting 30 kHz and 200 kHz IF bandwidths, the 32-pin, 5 x 5 mm, leadless plastic packaged chip provides 24 dB of cascaded gain and a 2.9 dB cascaded noise figure and dissipates only 30 mA.
Other features of the dual-band amp/mixer chip include stepped LNA/mixer gain control, adjustable LNA bias current/IIP3, integrated LO frequency doubler, and differential LO buffer outputs. The chip is made using a SeGe HBT process and costs $2.17 each/100,000. Evaluation boards are also available.
