Tooled for semiconductor users faced with device and package obsolescence, the ChipFix line of custom adapters allows users to replace obsolete logic and memory without the expense of redesigning the pc board. As ICs are constantly being improved - faster speeds, additional functions, reduced size - designers need to keep up and employ the new chips in their products. More often than not entire motherboards need to be either redesigned or scraped completely. The ChipFix adapters allow for the creation of simple daughter boards or module conversions for any chip replacement while retaining the same board layout. Custom adapters can be provided including QFP to BGA and PLCC to QFP as well as mounting ICs directly to a board for plug-and-play installation. Prices vary based on the application.
