The Cobra series single-board computers now include two RoHS-compliant versions that are available with standard 0ºC to +60ºC and extended -40ºC to +85ºC temperature ranges. Similar to their predecessors, the boards employ a Pentium M processor and an 855 GME chipset on an EBX platform. The EBX-12p (standard temperature) features a 1.8 GHz Pentium M processor while the EBX 12t (extended temperature) sports a 1 GHz Pentium M. Both boards include support for up to 2 GB of RAM, Extreme Graphics 2 video, Ethernet, USB, serial communication, plus analog and digital I/O. They also include reliability features such as TVS devices for ESD protection, a watchdog timer, CPU temperature sensor, and a field-upgradeable embedded BIOS. Off the shelf options include Gigabit Ethernet, analog I/O, and a pass-through PC/104-Plus connector. Custom options are also available. Operating-system support includes Windows CE/XP/XPe, Linux, VxWorks, QNX, DOS, and others. Pricing is approximately $1,500 each in OEM quantities. VERSALOGIC CORP., Eugene, OR. (800) 824-3163.
