The smaller, 0402 size of the U-dielectric capacitor reduces the area needed for components on a pc board, thereby reducing board interaction. The U-dielectric produces higher power efficiency and ultra low equivalent series resistance, specifically for the mini-power amplifiers, wireless LANs and the cellular markets. The U series caps include the C0G (NP0) chip capacitors rated from 25V in the 0402 size, 50V in 0603, 100V in 0805, and 200V in 1210 sizes. The 0402 capacitors are available in values from 0.5 to 39 pF. The higher voltage U series capacitors are available in values of 47 pF in the 0603 size, 160 pF in 0805 and 1000 pF in 1210 sizes. The 0402 U-dielectric caps cost between $0.03 and $0.18 each in quantities of 100,000 and are available from stock.
