Power Connector Links Boards In PC Server Applications

Feb. 1, 1999

An offspring of firm's FLATPAQ board-to-board power connector family, SERVERPAQ is a hot-pluggable power interconnect for high-end PC servers. Available in right-angle and straight mounting configurations, SERVERPAQ has eight power blades, 24 signal lines, and molded guide pins that provide reliable blind mating in a 3.5" length. Mounting features include compliant press-fit termination and solder tails of two lengths with an optional retentive feature on the outermost power contacts that hold the connector in place during mounting and soldering. The new power connector is expandable to allow addition of extra single FLATPAQ modules for increased power capability.
