Platform Thrives In Communications-Intensive Settings

Aug. 1, 2002

Based on an EBX form factor, the EmCORE-v615 Miniboard is powered by a VIA Ezra 800-MHz or Eden 667-MHz processor that can be used for fanless operation up to 60°C—the processors typically dissipate less than 9W. The compact Miniboard also packs three 10/100-Mb/s Ethernet ports and three network controllers, helping qualify the card for use in communications-intensive, mission-critical applications, such as triple Ethernet mini-servers or gateway systems. The board can also be expanded to a four Ethernet port unit by adding more ports via its PC/104-Plus socket or PCI slot for centralized management of a Secure Virtual Network. The board also offers multimedia features, such as a 3D engine 4X AGP VGA/LCD controller, an AC97 audio interface, an LVDS interface, and a TV output function. Other on-board features include two LPT ports, four USB ports, a fast IrDA interface, four serial and three RS-232 ports, and one RS-232/422/485 interface. Support is also provided for DiskOnChip 2000 and CompactFlash operation. For more details and prices, contact Christine Cha at ARBOR, Taipei, Taiwan. 886-2-8226-9396.
