Flat-Panel Touch-Screens Simplify Integration

Dec. 1, 1999

The Profile Series of flat-panel touch-screens makes it easier for OEMs to integrate them into display systems. The screens, which range in size from 6.4" to 42", provide as much as 23% more viewing area than competitive models. They’re also said to offer enhanced clarity and light transmission.Controllers for these touch-screens have been reduced in size from 2" x 3" to 1" x 2". The compact, single-sided pc board gives OEMs more flexibility in the ways in which touch-screens can be designed into slim flat-panel displays. The touch-screens are impervious to water, dirt, liquids, grease and other contaminants, making them useful in public access devices and gaming machines.
