Tape Has Pockets For SMT Devices

A line of custom carrier tapes features pockets custom designed to hold surface-mount components. The tapes allow packaging of components on tape-and-reel for picking-and-placing onto boards using any standard SMT feeder.
The tapes are available in 8- and 12-mm widths and are made from embossed, EIA-481-1-A-compliant plastic. Materials available include black conductive polystyrene, clear poly carbonate, black conductive polycarbonate, clear polystyrene, and clear PETG. Price for 8-mm, black conductive polystyrene tapes is $0.17/m at 50 km lengths.
